It is our pleasure to announce that we have been selected to perform at TEDxDetroit this October!

One of our greatest music accomplishments has come to pass. To be invited to perform at TEDxDetroit is an honor. Ever since the first TEDx came to the Detroit area, we’ve wanted a part of it. Now, we are part of the 2013 edition.

For those of you not familiar with the TED conferences, it was originally started in 1984 as a one-off conference but started the annual conference in 1990 in California. The mission of TED is “ideas worth spreading.” It gives a for movers and shakers in the community to talk about what they are doing and how they’re making an impact. Numerous people have spoken at TED including politicians, scientists, Nobel prize winners and more. Even musicians such as jazz vibraphonist Stefon Harris, one of our heros, did a TED talk.

In the now 5th year of TEDxDetroit, there have been many musicians featured at our own TED conference but never a jazz musician or band. We felt it was time to fill that void and bring our brand to the stage. Our performance at TEDxDetroit will be the themed “Generation to Generation.” What we’ll be doing is featuring musicians from 4 generations and doing a performance on stage. There is already an original song in the works just for TEDxDetroit.

Usually there’s a live feed for the conference for those that can’t make it. As of right now, we’re not sure if there will be but it’s been done before. Keep an eye out for that. It’s an exciting opportunity for us and we will be sure to make the most of it!

See you at the show!
